Why Don't You Use Free Offerings As A Strategy To Get More Customers?

Don't you just love freebies? I know I do.

I've been in two situations lately as a customer, when I received an unexpected freebie. After ordering my bagel and coffee at the Bagel Bar, the girl behind the cashier offered me a bottle of mineral water for free. I was about to order a glass of water anyway, so this came as a welcome gift.

A few days later, I went buying a steak at the meat counter in my nearby supermarket. I was chatting with the guy at the cashier about the fact that there didn't seem to be a lot of meat for so much money.

He apparently took pity on my miserable face when he said - "Tell you what sir, why don't you have this other steak for the same price" and he slapped an extra steak on top!

So what do we learn here? The lesson is that nearly all customers love a freebie and if they get one from a supplier it builds a positive relationship. And if people buy stuff at your online business, on the delivery section, give them some freebies and they will love you for that.

As customers, we're more likely to come again and do business with people who offer us freebies and we're more likely to tell other people about our positive experience. It's good practice to give your customers freebies sometimes but don't over do it. If you blast your email database with gifts on daily basis you are going to miss the goal and your internet marketing business is going to suffer for it..

I once read a story article about a restaurant owner who would occasionally give people a free meal. At the time when a group of diners or a family called for the bill he would suddenly announce that for this meal, they were his guests and they didn't have to pay for their meal.

Can you imagine how these people felt - what they said to friends and work partners the next day? The free meal most likely cost the restaurant owner a lot less than advertising in the city newspaper and it also attracted a lot more new customers.

The Law of Reciprocity states that - "If you give someone something - he/she will want to repay you - to give you something."

Why don't you come up with some little freebies you can give to your customers that'll encourage them to come again and also spread their positive experience. And while we're at it - why not try the same thing with your employees. Even your private relationships - a small unexpected gift or an act of kindness can do miracles for any relationship.

Believe me, once you begin to do this, you'll have many more happy customers, happy staff and appreciative buddies. It will definitely help your internet marketing business stay strong and grow.
